Return to Play Information

Return to Play

Our Return to Sport Plan is based on current public health guidance that we are mandated by the Province to follow (see links on the right). These are 'Subject to Change' at any given time.

While we are all doing our best to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, the virus is circulating in our community and it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk. Each participant must make their own decision as to whether it is in their best interest to resume participation at this time. You must take into account your own circumstances and make the decision that is right for you and your family. Should you choose to join us, we require your full cooperation with our Return to Sport Plan.

The Return to Sport Plan has been developed for our sport in order to ensure:

  • Health and safety of all individuals is a priority
  • Activities are in alignment with provincial health recommendations
  • Modifications to activities are in place in order to reduce the risks to each sport organization and its participants
  • Our sport is united and aligned on a plan to offer baseball to youth throughout the province

While we do hope things will return to normal in the not too distant future, currently this Return to Sport Plan will be the new normal until public health authorities advise us otherwise.

Five Principles

Below are the Five Principles from BC's Restart Plan that all members of KMBA whether that be volunteers, family members, players, coaches, etc are expected to adhere too:

Personal Hygiene

  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the field and participants are asked to also bring their own.
  • Participants will refrain from physical contact with all other individuals while at the field.
  • Wear a mask when & where mandated to do so.

Stay Home If You Are Sick

  • Participants must assess their own state of health before leaving home to attend programming.

Environmental Hygiene

  • All training equipment (screens, rakes, balls, etc.) will be sanitized before and after use.
  • Minimal sharing of KMBA equipment whenever possible.
  • No sharing of water bottles, food, or any personal equipment.
  • No spitting, gum, or sunflower seeds permitted.

Safe Social Interactions

  • Players are to arrive at the field ready to train and are not to get changed at the field.
  • Comply with physical distancing measures at all time.
  • Attendance will be taken.
  • Leave the field of play as quickly as possible after you finish.

Physical Modifications

  • Use of cones and markers to clearly define training areas for each group of participants.
  • Players, coaches, and designated volunteers at the field only.
  • Spectators (parents, siblings, etc) are not permitted to stay at the field. *With exception to 5U - 8U Parent Participation is mandatory; one parent per player is allowed to stay.
