Message from KMBA President - Return to Play 2021
Posted Dec 2, 2020

Dear KMBA Members,

I wanted to personally provide an update to our members for the upcoming 2021 season.  The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many changes to our everyday lives and now we find ourselves in the midst of a second wave with more uncertainties.

Our Return to Sport Plan follows the mandated Provincial Health Office (PHO) guidelines & restrictions. These guidelines & restrictions can change at any given time as we have seen over the past few weeks in response to the increase in positive COVID-19 cases. KMBA is committed to reviewing and revising these plans to ensure we remain compliant.

Should you choose to join us, we require your full cooperation with our Return to Sport Plan.

2021 Season Planning

KMBA’s Board of Directors have set a goal to see every division on the field playing baseball this spring, while keeping the health and safety of our participants and families in the forefront.

In order to accommodate as many spring registrants as possible for spring there will be earlier weekday start times for some of the younger divisions. We will need to ensure there is enough time for equipment sanitization between teams as well we are bound by the PHO order related to group gatherings that limits group numbers to 50 people .  Even though we are an outside sport, we are required to follow this order.  For more details on our Return to Sport Plans, please see our webpage.

While we are all doing our best to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, the virus is circulating in our community making it impossible to completely eliminate the risk.  Each family must make their own decision as to whether it is in their best interest to resume participation in the upcoming seasons.

Registration & Waivers

Typically our registration is open by now, however we felt it was best to hit the pause button on this while we navigate this second wave of COVID-19.   Communication will be sent out to members when registration opens.

When it is time to register,  please carefully read all the waivers that will appear during the online registration process.  Our hope is to host vibrant baseball programming in 2021; we want you to be fully informed & confident with the decision you are making for your family and your child.

In closing, I ask that Everyone take our Return to Play protocols seriously, be fully informed and come together in unity.  Please remember that KMBA must follow the rules laid before us in order to continue offering baseball to the youth in our community.

We are excited for 2021 and look forward to seeing players on the baseball fields.  Fore more information, please see our website.
